   Google opens enrolment for Registered App Stores to enable one‑tap Android installs

   Google is accepting applications from third‑party Android app marketplaces for its Registered App Stores programme, which enables one‑tap installs, background updates and download indicators. Eligible stores must pass identity checks, submit app catalogs for ongoing scanning, pay an annual registration fee, and the features will appear on devices running Android 17 QPR2+ from December 1, 2026 in select regions.
