   BYD now employs 1.02 million people, surpassing major automakers combined

   BYD reported it has more than 1.02 million employees, a total the company’s chairman said is larger than Toyota, GM, Ford and Tesla combined. The company said roughly 960,000 employees work in China, about 60,000 abroad, and up to 120,000 are R&D engineers, crediting vertical integration for the scale.
