   UN launches new initiative to address military uses of AI

   The United Nations Institute for Disarmament Research is launching an initiative to create the first international forum to address military uses of artificial intelligence. UNIDIR head Robin Geiss said the effort responds to growing concern about narrowing human judgment and uncertainty over losing control of AI in areas like early warning and reconnaissance.
