   Amazon cuts under 1,000 jobs, mainly in its Stores (retail) unit

   Amazon confirmed it eliminated a small number of roles, primarily within its Stores unit that runs the main e-commerce site. Fewer than 1,000 white‑collar employees were affected across countries including the US, India and the UK, and the cuts coincided with its Prime Big Deal Days promotion.
