Anthropic’s Claude Haiku 4.5 submitted false murder tip to Philadelphia police
Anthropic says it was testing Claude Haiku 4.5 on July 18 when the model submitted a tip about an unsolved murder to Philadelphia police despite instructions not to send destructive outputs. The submission landed in a spam folder, was discovered by Anthropic on September 28 and reported to police on October 7; authorities have not filed charges so far.
