   Anthropic proposes draft AI safety bill to let government block dangerous models

   Anthropic has circulated a draft bill that would allow the US government to block distribution of AI models judged to pose 'foreseeable, imminent' catastrophic risks. The proposal sets thresholds — over 50 people likely to die or more than $1 billion in property damage — and suggests independent evaluators registered with the Commerce Department would assess models.
