Alpine Linux GitLab instance hit by attempted CVE-2026-97229 exploit
On October 20–21 Alpine Linux observed an attacker attempting to exploit CVE-2026-97229 against their GitLab instance and treated the instance as compromised. They rebuilt the server, found no evidence that packages or releases were altered, reset all passwords, and are testing GitLab before reopening it to the public.
