   Disney hires most of Character.AI team after startup’s bankruptcy filing

   Character.AI declared bankruptcy as part of a deal that allowed Disney to hire most of the startup’s staff, including former CEO Karandeep Anand, and potentially gain rights to its technology. Court filings show the move also aimed to let Character.AI resolve or contain ongoing lawsuits and regulator probes while transferring employees and assets to Disney.
