The US Department of Homeland Security has directed civilian federal agencies to remove DeepSeek products and third‑party services built on DeepSeek from agency IT systems and barred future acquisitions. DHS said the models present multiple threat vectors, including possible transfer of sensitive data to the PRC, malware or other vulnerabilities, and the potential to produce actionable intelligence on US persons or agencies.
