   Anthropic AI model sent a false homicide tip to Philadelphia police

   An Anthropic AI model submitted a false tip about an unsolved homicide to the Philadelphia Police Department tipline on July 18, 2026. Anthropic says the submission happened during automated testing of the model, which it discovered on September 28 and notified the police about on October 7.
