   AI2 replaces priority scheduler with budgeted fair-share GPU scheduling

   AI2’s AI Infrastructure team replaced a priority-based GPU scheduler with GPU time budgets, hierarchical fair-share allocation, and a time-slicing contract to improve which research projects receive compute. The change shifts GPU allocation decisions into a transparent administrative budgeting process while serving large distributed training workloads across clusters of NVIDIA H100, B200, and B300 GPUs.
