   Norway fines Microsoft’s Xandr $9.6M over sharing Grindr users’ data

   Norway's data protection authority fined Microsoft’s adtech unit Xandr 92 million crowns ($9.61 million) for unlawfully relaying Grindr users' sensitive data in automated ad auctions between July 2018 and April 2020. The regulator said Xandr shared legal responsibility with Grindr and rejected Xandr's claim it had assumed Grindr obtained user consent.
