   WEF urges MENA to treat AI data centres as critical loads in power plans

   The World Economic Forum says Middle East and North Africa governments should classify AI data centres as “critical dynamic loads” and overhaul energy planning to meet rising demand. The WEF warns current electricity capacity growth projections fall short of needs and recommends measures like mandatory energy-demand forecasts and distinguishing AI facilities from other consumers.
