   Disney to hire most of Character.AI workforce as startup files for bankruptcy

   A legal filing shows Disney agreed to make employment offers to at least 60 Character.AI employees after the chatbot startup filed for bankruptcy and to buy some assets for $20 million. The filing says the vast majority of offered employees accepted, and Character.AI cited high costs plus potential litigation and regulatory issues as reasons for its collapse.
