   Google policy change could let AI features use Gmail, Photos, Drive for ads

   Google updated its privacy policy on October 16, 2026 to allow content from Drive, Gmail, and Google Photos to be made available to other Google services that support personalized ads when users opt into AI features. The change means users who connect those services to Personal Intelligence or AI Mode could see ad targeting based on that content, though Google says advertisers don't get direct access to raw files or personal identifiers.
