   UK regulator targets Microsoft for possible 'strategic market status' in business software

   The UK Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) proposed designating Microsoft with 'strategic market status' in business software and has opened investigations into its product bundling and licensing. The CMA will examine whether Microsoft’s position — including its Copilot AI, Office apps and security products — limits customer choice and hinders rivals.
