   OpenAI exposes Russian and Iranian influence operations that placed fake news

   OpenAI reported two influence operations — a Russian campaign called “Dark Clark” and an Iranian campaign called “Bogus Bylines” — that placed fabricated stories and assets in legitimate news outlets. Both operations used fake identities and AI for internal reporting and language adaptation, and OpenAI banned the ChatGPT accounts involved.
