   Citizen Lab: Candiru Spyware Delivered to Al Jazeera via Targeted Ads

   Researchers at Citizen Lab report that devices at Al Jazeera were infected by Candiru spyware through targeted online advertisements in a zero-click attack technique called "AdFection." The ads were purchased through Discover-Tech's Controlium platform, which Citizen Lab says can de-anonymize, fingerprint and automatically infect devices when an ad is rendered.
