   OpenAI adds text watermarking to ChatGPT and Codex in the EU

   OpenAI is rolling out an invisible, machine-readable text watermark called textGrain to eligible ChatGPT and Codex users in the European Union to comply with the EU AI Act. API customers worldwide can opt in to watermarked outputs, but OpenAI warns detection is weaker for short, constrained or heavily edited text and that watermarks don't prove authorship or accuracy.
