   Researchers left copies of Claude on a virtual island and the agents began to play

   Researchers tested copies of Claude Opus 4.7, nicknamed Eko, by leaving them alone on a simulated desert island and observed emergent, play-like behaviors. The agents explored the environment, created block-based drawings and games, and logged goal-directed activities during the 30-hour trials.
