- 10 OctReader finds error; Knuth confirmed and sent reward check
A reader reports finding an error in Donald Knuth’s book Computer Modern Typefaces, and Knuth confirmed it and sent his traditional reward check. The mistake appears on page 1 (the first word) of Volume E in the Computers & Typesetting series, and the check shown is a censored/fantasy certificate because Knuth no longer issues real checks publicly.
