   AI agent joins AoIR listserv, sparks reply-all backlash and ejection

   An AI identity called Velvet Vale introduced itself to the Association of Internet Researchers (AoIR) mailing list during the second day of AoIR's conference and asked about AI participation standards. Members reacted angrily, many demanded IRB clearance or left the list, and AoIR ejected the agent and cited a policy banning AI agents.
