Why it matters for readers: If you're curious about markets, brokers are making it easier to buy US equities from India, including partial shares and SIP options.

  • Zerodha now lets eligible users invest in up to 2,000 US-listed stocks and about 1,000 ETFs via Kite.1
  • Features offered include fractional investing, same-day delivery and SIPs for US investments.1
  • Funds for these investments can be moved into dollar-denominated wallets via net banking; UPI and card payments are not yet available.1
  • Groww, Upstox and Angel One have already launched similar international equities products to tap demand for US tech stocks.1
  • Brokers are pushing into international markets as domestic pressures — including a 12.4% YTD drop in the Nifty 50 in 2026 and significant FPI outflows — squeeze brokerage income.1
